A visit to Caritas Chong Yuet Ming Seconday School          27/1/2016

     

Our school was grateful to be invited by Caritas Chong Yuet Ming Seconday School for the English Fun Day on the 27th January, 2016.Various interesting learning activities were arranged for our primary 6 students. For instance, i-Pad learning about verbs and passive voice by making rainbow in a test tube’. Moreover, students joined in fun speaking activities with their NET teachers.The English Fun Day motivated our students to learn English and they enjoyed participating in the activities.

                                                                     

                                      

  

Halloween Adventure

On the 28th of November, we had our annual English activities to celebrate the Halloween festival. Before our English activities, an English assembly was held to introduce the origins of the festival to our students. In our English lessons, we also taught the vocabulary to raise their interest and ability in playing the booth games. The English activities were held successfully in the English room with an exciting atmosphere. Many of our students were in Halloween costumes and had a wonderful time in playing the booth games.

         

         

 

 

 

Primary Literacy Programme – Reading and Writing (P.1 – P.3)

Students are engaged in their English learning through shared reading, storytelling, reading aloud, and independent reading. Students acquire the reading strategies and skills while observing the teacher demonstrating reading aloud to them. In preparing the student to write independently, they share their writing with their own teacher and learn how to use the writing checklist in revising their writing.

Process Writing Programme (P.4 – P.6)

Process writing emphasizes on the steps to produce a good piece of writing. First, students will brainstorm the ideas and key words to produce the first draft. Then, students will learn how to use the writing checklist to revise their writing. At the end, they will produce a final draft that allows them to share their writing with others. Throughout the process, students also learn about the different types of text and writing structures.
